IJ37161: GRAPHICAL SCHEDULING - ZOOMING IN REPEATEDLY CAUSES A ZOOM OUT

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In Graphical Scheduling (GS) on the Graphical View tab
    Zoom to Work which showed the whole schedule Start to End
    range (with a month or 2 in the past).
    Now zoom in repeatedly and after 4 or 6 times GS does a
    zoom out instead of another zoom in.
    
    It does not happen with all schedule Start and End Dates. It
    did not happen with a Start Date of Sept 5, 2021 and an End of
    June 17, 2022. But does happen with Oct 1, 2021 to Dec 30,
    2021.
    
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    1. Enter 3 work orders:
    - WO1 with a Scheduled Start of Oct 5, 2021
    - WO2 with Scheduled Start of Nov 24, 2021
    - WO3 with Dec 25, 2021
    - Each with a duration of 5
    2. Create a new Schedule in Graphical Scheduling.
    3. Give it Start Date of Oct 1, 2021 and End of Dec 30, 2021.
    4. Add a Work Query to select the 3 new WO.
    5. Save
    6. Go to the Graphical View tab and click on Zoom to Work to
    show the whole date range.
    7. Click on Zoom In,  Click it again,  And again.  Keep clicking
    it and eventually it will Zoom Out instead of Zooming In.
    Usually this is on the 6th click.  The Zoom In button shows as
    usable, it is not greyed out.
    
    RESULTS:
    As above it zooms out even though zoom in was selected.   The
    zoom in button is still available to be clicked.    Clicking on
    it now often does the zoom out after only 5 clicks, not 6.
    
    EXPECTED RESULTS:
    It should continue zooming in.   In tests with other date ranges
    that worked the zoom in button could be clicked 20 times and it
    always zoomed in.
