Error description

  • Using the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus restore wizard for
File-level or Instant VM restores, the temporary NFS datastore
presented from the vSnap host to all ESXi hosts part of a same
ESXi cluster is not unmounted from all these ESXi hosts by the
cleanup action. This is seen because the wizard sends the
unmount requests based on expired cache information. There are
no error messages associated with this issue.

Additional Keywords: SPP, SPPLUS, Restore, TS006920709, NFS
    Datastore, Mount, Unmount

Local fix

  • After the cleanup operation completed on the IBM Spectrum
Protect Plus side, manually unmount the left over temporary NFS
datastore stale connection information from each affected ESXi
    host on the vSphere side.

Problem conclusion

  • The fix for this issue is to try to remove datastore from any
ESXi host associated with it even if vCenter does not explicitly
    report the datastore as mounted.
