Troubleshooting
Problem
Though executing "cogconfig.sh -start" on your terminal, no configuration screen will be appears on your terminal. Cognos service might not start.
Symptom
Err,java.awt.HeadlessException:
No X11 DISPLAY variable was set, but this program performed an operation which requires it., com.cognos.crconfig.CRConfingFrame.<init> (CRConfigFrame.java:113) com.cognos.crconfig.CRConfigFrame.clinit> (CRConfigFrame.java:2888)
You can see above error on your shell command prompt.
Cause
You have not set the X11 environmental variable "DISPLAY" which specify the screen where the Cognos Configuration interface should be displayed.
Environment
Cognos is configured on remote Linux server.
Resolving The Problem
Set environment variable DISPLAY on your command shell.
