HADR instance fix pack upgrade happens on only one node

Troubleshooting

Problem

In IBM Cloud Pak System, after the Db2 fix pack is applied on a HADR instance, the fix pack update happens on only one node instead of both the nodes.

Symptom

The application of Db2 fix pack by clicking Manage -> Operations in the IBM Cloud Pak System user interface for Db2 virtual system instance indicates that the update was successful. However, the db2level command output shows that the update happened on only one node.

Diagnosing The Problem

After the fix pack is applied from Manage -> Operations, check the Db2 version by using the db2level command in both the virtual machines. The output shows that only one node was updated but not the other node.
Also, the /tmp/export_json_file.json file is not present on the virtual machine.

Resolving The Problem

To resolve the fix pack rolling upgrade, use eFix that is made available on IBM Fix Central at:
After this fix is applied successfully, all future fix pack operations happen on both nodes.
