Upgrade issue with Db2 11.5.6.0 due to new license validation check

Troubleshooting

Problem

In IBM Cloud Pak System, when Db2 11.5.x is upgraded to Db2 fix pack 11.5.6.0, the upgrade process does not complete successfully. This problem occurs because a new license acceptance check is introduced in Db2 fix pack 11.5.6.0.

Symptom

The application of Db2 fix pack 11.5.6.0 by clicking Manage -> Operations in the IBM Cloud Pak System user interface for Db2 virtual system instance indicates that the update was successful. However, the db2level command output shows that the update was not successful.

Diagnosing The Problem

After applying the fix pack from Manage -> Operations, check the Db2 version by using the db2level command in the virtual machine. The output does not show the updated Db2 version.
Go to the deployment trace logs at /opt/IBM/maestro/agent/usr/servers/OS_Node_XXXXXX/logs/OS_Node_XXXX.DB2_Server_1-Part/trace.log to see the following error message:
The installation is aborted because the license agreement was not accepted. Non-interactive mode is specified, specify -y to accept the license agreement.

Resolving The Problem

Note: This fix is available in Db2 pattern type 1.2.15.0 as part of IBM Cloud Pak System 2.3.3.4.
This fix is applicable to the Db2 11.5 virtual system instances of Db2 pattern type V1.2.10.0 to V1.2.14.0, where the installed Db2 level is less than 11.5.6.0 and the user wants to apply Db2 fix pack 11.5.6.0 or greater.
