Summary
This document describes how to install Data Studio 4.1.4 on Linux and Windows operating systems.
Steps
Installing Data Studio involves some preparation, you need the following:
- The latest version of Installation Manager, and
- Set up the repository location.
Prerequisite
Install the latest version of the IBM Installation Manager. The installer is packaged along with the installation files of IBM Data Studio 4.1.4:
- Windows: agent.installer.win32.win32.x86_64_1.9.1006.20210614_1906.zip
- Linux: agent.installer.linux.gtk.x86_64_1.9.1006.20210614_1906.zip

Pre-installation steps
You need to set up the location of the repository before proceeding with Data Studio installation.
- Start the Installation Manager and go to File > Preferences:

- Select Add Repository. It opens a window from where you can Browse your local directories:

- Go to the path where you have saved the Data Studio client (compressed folder) and click OK:

- Ensure that Data Studio is added under Repositories correctly. Select the installation path and click Apply, then click OK:

Installing Data Studio 4.1.4
- After successfully setting up the path of the repository, you are redirected to the Installation Manager startup screen. On the startup screen, select Install:

- Select the installation package on the Installation Packages screen and click Next:

- Read and accept the license agreement, then click Next:

- Ensure that the Shared Resources Directory field is correctly pre-populated to the following location and click Next:
- For Windows: C:\Program Files\IBM\SDPShared
- For Linux: /opt/IBM/SDPShared

- On the following screen, ensure that the Installation Directory field has the correct path of the installation package:
- For Windows: C:\Program Files\IBM\DS4.1.4
- For Linux: /opt/IBM/DS4.1.4

- Select the desired language(s) for getting the translated files and click Next. Note that the default language is English:

- You have an option to select a few or all the features of Data Studio:
- Full product option installs the features you select.
- Simplified product option installs the simplified features.
Note: Some features are mandatorily selected by the Installation Manager and are installed irrespective of your selection of features.

- Review the summary information and click Install:

- check IBM Data studio properly installed or not and click on finish
