IT38902: THE IBM SPECTRUM PROTECT PLUS SERVER'S TRUNCATED, MONGODB LOGS, ARE NOT BEING DELETED.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The IBM Spectrum Protect Plus server should be deleting the
  truncated MongoDB logs when reaching their 30 day retention
  limit.
  These, archived mongoDB files, are being left behind causing
  space usage to gradually increase on the Data volume.
  

Local fix

• The MongoDB Log files exist in the directory below on the IBM
  Spectrum Protect Plus Server.
  /data/log/mongo
  
  1) Log into the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Server via CLI.
    Type:
    sudo bash
  
  
  2) cd into the directory.
    cd /data/log/mongo
  
  3) Run the command below.  The command will display oldest files
  at the bottom of the output, dated.
  
    ls -ltr
  
  
  4) Run the command below to delete the older files
  individually.
    Example: rm -f mongod.log.4.gz
