Problem
The policies required for RFE IRISCART-779 are not updated in Impact on upgrade from FP22 -> FP23. The 3 affected policies are
- RE_ACT_GROUPSYNTHETIC.js
- PG_PROCESSPATTERNS.js
- PG_PROCESSTYPES.js

Symptom
With RFE IRISCART-779 correctly in place, it is expected that the ParentIdentifier fields is not updated for Related Events groupings. However, with the out-of-date policies, the ParentIdentifier field is updated.
Cause
The updated policies are saved correctly in the $IMPACT_HOME/add-ons/RelatedEvents/importData/Policy/com.micromuse.response.dblayer.PolicyOrgNode directory but they are not pushed to Impact by the Installer.
Environment
This only affects Impact FP23 systems, with NOI Extensions, which have been upgraded from FP22. And this is only relevant if RFE IRISCART-779 is required. For more information on RFE IRISCART-779 see https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/noi/1.6.3?topic=analytics-connecting-premises-event
Diagnosing The Problem
On a FP23 Impact system, with NOI Extensions, check for the word ceaScopingFeature in the policy PG_PROCESSTYPES. If this word is missing then the policies are not up to date.
Resolving The Problem
To resolve the issue apply the up-to-date policies in the add-ons/RelatedEvents/importData/Policy/com.micromuse.response.dblayer.PolicyOrgNode directory to Impact using nci_policy command.
Set the IMPACT_HOME environment variable and use the following commands to push the updated policies to Impact
$IMPACT_HOME/bin/nci_policy NCI push impactadmin <password> $IMPACT_HOME/add-ons/RelatedEvents/importData/Policy/com.micromuse.response.dblayer.PolicyOrgNode/RE_ACT_GROUPSYNTHETIC.js
