Troubleshooting
Problem
While attempting to install the new single file Planning Analytics for Excel add-in, an error is thrown and the installation fails.
Symptom
Error message:
"The file format and extension of 'IBM_PAfE_x86_2.0.67.7.xll' don't match. The file could be corrupted or unsafe. Unless you trust its source, don't open it. Do you want to open it anyway?"
Cause
CognosSessionMonitor.exe, a child process of the add-in, was blocked by the virus scanner
Resolving The Problem
"%localappdata%\cognos\office connection\sessionmonitor\CognosSessionMonitor.exe" was added to the allowlist of the virus scanner
