Problem
Unable to stop TM1 Admin Server using IBM Cognos Configuration tool
Symptom
Attempts to stop the TM1 Admin Server prior to stopping TM1 servers results in a pop up window stating "Stopping TM1 Admin Server" however TM1 Admin server doesn't stop.
Cause
TM1 Admin Server by design can't be stopped using IBM Cognos Configuration tool while TM1 servers are running.
All TM1 Servers need to be stopped prior to shutting down TM1 Admin Server over IBM Cognos configuration tool.
Resolving The Problem
Ensure to stop all the running TM1 servers prior to stopping TM1 Admin server using the IBM Cognos configuration tool.
Alternatively, TM1 Admin Server can be stopped directly using Windows services.msc utility though without stopping TM1 Servers first.
Stopping TM1 Admin Server from Windows services.msc utility automatically stops all the running TM1 servers prior to shutting down the TM1 Servers.
