SE76308: RDI 9.6.0.11 EDITOR SHOULD ADD COLUMNS 1-5 CHANGE SIGNATURE TO EMBEDDED SQL LINES IN ILE RPG SOURCE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In Rational Developer for i (RDI) 9.6.0.11, there is a
  preference setting (Preferences>Remote Systems>Remote Systems
  LPEX Editor>IBM i Parsers) named "Add signature to changed lines
  for RPG/400, ILE RPG and DDS parsers". When selected, it places
  the specified signature in columns 1-5 of lines in the editor
  which are changed in that editor session.
   This does not work for embedded SQL statements in ILE RPG
  source. No signature is added to SQL source lines which are
  changed; but is expected to be.
  

Local fix

• Select the "EXEC SQL" text at the starting line of the
  statement, and press CTRL+SHIFT+F, to trigger formatting that
  selected text. That will add a signature at the start line of
  the changed statement.
