APAR status

Error description

  • ERROR DESCRIPTION:
    Doclink is not added to Library even if File name and extension
    are in the 'Specify a file' field
    
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    When adding new file in Manage Library, Clicking Add file, then
    Select Folder, then select file from shared file location, the
    files is entered into the field. Then you can name the Library
    entry, and a description all is good to this point.
    The issue comes when un-checking the "Copy document to the
    default location set by your administrator(recommended)?"
    Once that box is unchecked, the selected file and the Select
    file button go away, and a Specify File field opens, and will
    not create the Library entry regardless of what is put in that
    field. The real problem is that the UNC type document does not
    get added to the library.
    
    As per Development : The fix is already done in 7613. The fix
    file is AddDocBean.java
    
    
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    
    Open Maximo as maxadmin
    
    Go to Asset app
    
    From the More Actions side menu, go to Attachment
    Library/Folders > Manage Library
    
    Click on Add a Document to the Library > Add New File
    
    First of all, UNcheck the "Copy document to the default
    location set by your administrator (recommended)?" checkbox
    
    This will make the Browse button disappear and you will see the
    Specify a File field, where you can enter the exact location of
    the file you want to upload.
    
    Enter a valid value like C:\TEST\test.jpg in the Specify a file
    field. (we assume the file actually exists)
    Enter valid values to Name the document
    
    Click OK
    
    Although you specified the full path to the file, including the
    file name and extension into the 'Specify a file' field, the
    file is not added to the Library. (The same thing happens when
    you add an Attachment to the record, instead of the Library)
    
    Customer reported this worked in previous versions of Maximo.
    
    CURRENT ERRONEOUS RESULT:
    Doclink is not added to Library even if File name and extension
    are in the 'Specify a file' field
    
    EXPECTED RESULT:
    Doclink is added to Library with the File name and extension
    that are in the 'Specify a file' field
