Troubleshooting
Problem
After installing Cognos Analytics 11.2.1 GA, we attempt to start the service and the following error is written to the logs:
CCL-SRV-0501 The BIBusTKServer process caught an unexpected exception.
CCLRuntimeError
CCL-PLG-0001 Failed to load the pluggable shared library.
libX11.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
CCLRuntimeError
CCL-PLG-0001 Failed to load the pluggable shared library.
libX11.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Symptom
The installation type used was silent. No GUI was used for the installation.
Not all processes start and the error will be written to the logs.
Cause
There is a missing dependency on the server:
X11 - X11 is a windowing system for linux.
Diagnosing The Problem
Review the installed components on the server to confirm X11 is installed.
Resolving The Problem
To address the error, install the X11 component.
This allows the application to start and function as expected.
