JazzSM DASH - Exchanging signer certificate for DASH server in a high-availability load-balancing cluster

How To

Summary

This document includes the procedure required on each Jazz for Service Management - Dashboard Application Services Hub (DASH) server to ensure server-to-server trust when configuring high-availability load-balancing.

Steps

To share signer certificates across all HA cluster members:
On EACH DASH server in your HA cluster:

1) Log into DASH has "smadmin" and launch the WebSphere Administrative Console (Console Settings > WebSphere Administrative Console).

2) In the WebSphere admin console navigate to: Security > SSL certificate and key management > Key stores and certificates > NodeDefaultTrustStore > Signer certificates

3) Even if you have entries for the other DASH servers in the table on the page, click "Retrieve from port".

4) Fill in the fields:

Host - Set to the host name for one of the DASH servers in the cluster.
port - Set to 16311 (the client port for the DASH web console)
Alias - Set to the host name for one of the DASH servers in the cluster

5) Click "Retrieve signer information"

6) When the signer information is displayed, click "Apply"
If you receive a warning that the signer certificate for the target host already exists, that's OK.  The purpose of this procedure is to ensure that is the case.
Repeat steps 1-6 for adding the signer certificate for each DASH server in the HA cluster.  Add all signer certificate for all DASH servers on EACH DASH server in the HA cluster.
