Problem

API request fails with HTTP 401:Unauthorized, throwing this error message in the gateway logs "registration not active for plan"

Symptom

API fails with this error in gateway logs: (webapi): HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized: Unauthorized request8:18:30 AM apiconnect warning 1173059792 request. xx.xx.xxx.xxxx80000001 mpgw (webapi): Policy: registration not active for plan: [Test_Plan] for app: [client_ID]

Resolving The Problem

Check the following to make sure the subscription is active: 
1. Make sure the plan exists
2. Make sure the subscription exists and is assigned to the correct plan
3. Make sure the application is in ACTIVE state and is not suspended.
4. Check for any Approvals that are pending from: API Manager-> Catalog -> Approvals page, and approve if any
5. Flush the document cache from DataPower Domain.
Retest the API.
