  • Error Message: Typically, occasional crash in runtime (when some
specific data type happens to be unresolved in that JIT-ed
method)

Problem summary


    

  • This can only happen on AIX7.3 running on POWER10, and it only
materialized in IBM SDK8 SR6 FP35 and FP36 (since POWER10 was
not enabled in prior releases).
Using prefixed instruction in unresolved sequence is not
expected.  that caused runtime crash when it happened.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Disable mapping prefixed instruction during codegen when the
underlying data is unresolved.
.
This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases:
   8    SR7       (8.0.7.0)
