PH40762: ANALYZEPART FAILS WITH ABENDU0046 FROM SORT - SORT CAPACITY EXCEEDED

Error description

• Currently, ANALYZEPART does not supply an estimated file size to
  DFSORT and allocates SORTWKS itself.  As long as the SORTWKs
  are being allocated and passed to DFSORT, DFSORT is not going to
  Dynamically Allocate the WORK datasets. If an accurate file size
  was available (+/- 10% as compared to the data), if the WORK
  datasets are insufficient, then DFSORT would find the resources
  elsewhere (HIPERSPACE, Memory Objects, etc...).

  ANALYZEPART does not supply an estimated file size to DFSORT
  and allocates SORTWKs itself. As long as the SORTWKs are being
  allocated and passed to DFSORT, DFSORT is not going to allocate
  the SORTWK datasets dynamically. So when the SORTWK datasets are
  insufficient, ANALYZEPART can fail with ABENDU0046.
  If an accurate file size was available, if the WORK datasets
  are insufficient, then DFSORT would find the resources elsewhere
  (HIPERSPACE, Memory Objects, etc...).  So when ANALYZEPART calls
  DFSORT, it is preferable to specify an estimated file size and
  let DFSORT allocate the SORTWK datasets dynamically.

Problem conclusion

• Code has been changed to specify an estimated file size and let
  DFSORT allocate the SORTWK datasets dynamically when ANALYZEPART
  calls DFSORT.
