APAR status

Error description

  • Error Message: The following message is received:
** ASSERTION FAILED ** j9mm.141 at Scavenger.cpp:260
Assert_MM_unreachable_internal((false))

Local fix

  • The issue can be worked around by adding the following JVM
option:
-Xgc:hierarchicalScanOrdering

Problem summary

  • The problem is caused because the GC scavenger scan ordering is
not defined when -XXgc:stdSplitFreeListSplitAmount is used.

Problem conclusion

  • The JVM has been updated to so that the GC scavenger scan
ordering option is properly defined.

This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases:
   8    SR7       (8.0.7.0)
