Local fix
This native memory leak may be averted by turning off hardware compression, which can be done by setting this Unix environment variable: _HZC_COMPRESSION_METHOD=software.
Problem summary
The problem was caused by a native memory leak in the zEDC hardware acceleration code. The effect of the memory leak was more pronounced on z15 compared to the earlier hardware.
