Troubleshooting
Problem
When attempting to add a Cloud Object Storage location, the list of buckets is empty despite the connection test working.
Also, when attempting to save a connection object, without going to the 'add location/buckets', it gives no errors and go back to the Cloud Object Storage page without creating the connection.

Symptom
During creating a new connection:
If you attempt to 'create and finish' you will go to the main page with no object created.
If you click 'create and continue' you won't be able to select a bucket.
If an admin has already created the connection and you attempt to add a new location, you will get error popup 'cmNoWrite'.
In the logs we see this error:

CM-REQ-4012 You do not have the appropriate permissions to update or delete the object \\\"\\/Resources\\/cosConnections\\\" or a related object.
Cause
The default root permissions for location "Resources > cosConnections > connections" are:
- Everyone = execute and traverse
- Report Administrators = full control
This means that only Report Administrators (and system administrators) can create objects.

Resolving The Problem
Speak with your Cognos Administrator to elevate your permissions or reconfigure the Cloud Object Storage permissions to suit.
