IT38288: SQL RESTORE FAILED WITH INCORRECT SYNTAX ERROR

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• SQL application server restore failed on IBM Spectrum Protect
  Plus with syntax error.
  The issue is encountered when there are duplicate database names
  in 2 SQL instances
  
  of the same SQL server. Restore from 1 instance to another
  instance may have this issue.
  
  The following error may seen from the job log:
  
  CTGGA3090,[SQL_Name] copy failed. Error: [The source file
  [xxxxxxxxxxxxx] validation failed.
  
  Reason: [(123 The filename directory name or volume label
  syntax is incorrect.]
  CTGGA3034,[SQL_name] Failed to restore database. Error: Writer
  [SqlServerWriter]

Problem conclusion

• Fixed an issue with restore when there are two databases with
  same name exists on two instances on the same server. After
  applying the fix the restore job will complete successfully for
  this case also.
