Serviceability
Following are some general help pages as well as specific errors listed with potential fixes

Errors:
  • Connection to node that the GUI is running on is not available or host servers cannot be connected...
    • The host server jobs need to be running on all the servers you want to connect to.  Run on the server:
      • > STRHOSTSVR *ALL
  • Java Message Service Error Because of Port Restrictions on Certain IBM i Systems Network -> TCP configuration
  • New Navigator for i shows logon screen but presents blank screen after logging in. Confirm the WebSocket Protocol is open on your network Firewall. 
  • Errors in messages.log:  java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out while executing QNEWNAVSRV.NEWNAV query.
    • also Communication link failure. (Read timed out)
    • Navigator will time out if SQL queries take longer than 6 minutes. 
  • Failed to get users list
    • This error can be seen in Navigator on IBM i 7.5 while opening the Users table if there are tens-of-thousands of users and you attempt to display all users.  Changes to the query have caused it to take longer than the connection time allowed for Navigator as the number of users increases (see Read timed out above).  A filter was added to allow you to display the users you are interested in and not have to display all users.  We recommend using this filter to avoid time-out and connection issues.
    • The SQL service used for the Users table is QSYS2.USER_INFO.  Starting in IBM i 7.5, additional security features were added that affect the performance of this view.  It can take several minutes and a significant amount of CPU time when there are many thousand users and all are attempted to be displayed.  This causes the full user table to not display within the time-out limit defined for Navigator.
