Problem
Value prompt in Cognos Analytics 11 shows on the first two lines the name of the column and a dotted or dashed line before showing the list of values to select from.
How can these be removed from the prompt so that only the values that will be used to filter the Query?

Cause
By default Prompt are set with automatic Header Text which shows the name of the Level that are listed as choices, for example, Product Line, then a dotted line to separate it from the values.
Resolving The Problem
Modify the Value Prompt Header Text property.
Steps:
- Open the report in Reporting for editing
- Select the Value Prompt and open the Properties panel
- Scroll down to the PROMPT TEXT section
- Click the ... beside Header Text
- In the Header Text dialog, select Specified text, and leave it blank, Click OK.
Now when you run the report only the values will be displayed.
