IBM JDK 8.0 causes segmentation error

Troubleshooting

Problem

SOAR Security Platform V41.2.35 upgrades IBM JDK to 8.0.6.31. This version of the JDK can cause segmentation errors in systems with 50+ GB of RAM.

Symptom

On systems with 50 or more GB of RAM, or 32+ max heap, the JVM crashes with a segmentation error.

Resolving The Problem

This IBM JDK APAR will be fixed in version 8.0.6.35, planned for August 2021 release.  Customers running the SOAR platform on systems running 50+ GB of RAM are cautioned to not upgrade to SOAR platform V41.2.35. Instead, upgrade to the upcoming v41.2 Hotfix 1 or upcoming v42 release.
