IBM Support

In IBM MDM Publisher, existing endpoint connections can be lost when updating the configuration

Troubleshooting

Problem

When adding one or more new endpoints to the configuration of an MDM Publisher deployment that was installed using Helm, any previously existing endpoint configurations are not preserved. This issue occurs when you run the update_configuration.sh script and select option 1 to add one or more endpoints apart from the existing ones.

Resolving The Problem

To work around this issue, complete these steps every time you need to add a new endpoint to the configuration:
  1. Run update_configuration.sh and select option 2 to list all existing endpoints. Save the connection details of your existing configured endpoints.
  2. Run update_configuration.sh again and select option 3 to delete all existing endpoints from the configuration.
  3. Run update_configuration.sh again and select option 1.
  4. Define all of your endpoints, including your previously configured ones and any new ones that you want to add.
