APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • TO BE REVIEWED WITH TEAM - The profile creation has been
accepting  the domain name that starts with the digit.  At
WebSphere xxx, profile creation includes Subject Alternative
Name in the server certificate.

Local fix

  • It is  better for customer to update the domain name.

*                      provided                                *
*                      hostname with digits in the domain part *
*                      of the hostname.                        *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

Digits are not allowed in the domain part of a hostname in the
SAN
extension of a certificate.   The default certificate will fail
to
create in turn the profile fails to create.

Problem conclusion

  • Added more checking of the CN value of Subject DN to be inline w
what the JDK allows to be in the SAN extension of a certificate.

The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
8.5.5.21 and 9.0.5.9. For more information, see 'Recommended
