Maximo Application Suite configuration of SAML is less flexible in MAS 8.5

Troubleshooting

Problem

Design improvements in Maximo Application Suite ("MAS") have resulted in a change that makes configuring SAML less flexible than it was in previous versions.  The MAS SAML configuration panels list the following configuration steps to configure SAML:
  1. Create SAML service provider information
  2. Register with your SAML provider
  3. Upload the SAML IdP metadata
But in earlier versions, a MAS admin could configure these steps in any order, even in the interface.  In MAS 8.4 and later, these steps must be completed in the order presented in the interface.

Resolving The Problem

Configure SAML in the order of the steps presented in the SAML configuration panels.
