Error description

  • ERROR DESCRIPTION:
    JAWS cannot distinguish between different Calendar buttons
    
    PROBLEM:
    JAWS cannot distinguish between different Calendar buttons
    The following occur in Administration, Resources, Labor:
    The relationship between Select Value, Detail Menu, and
    Calendar buttons and their respective fields cannot be
    understood by assistive technology. These relationships can
    only be inferred by the user. For example, assistive technology
    cannot distinguish between the Calendar button for the "Hire
    Date From:" field, and the Calendar button for the "Hire Date
    To:" field. Both elements are read as, "Select Date link
    graphic."
    The structure of the Toolbar list cannot be understood by
    assistive technology. Assistive technology reads there are
    three buttons in this list. However, there are five user
    interface elements contained in this list.
    
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    0. First of all, ensure the screen-reader flag is set in their
    User record.
    1. In the Users application, open a user record.
    2. In the User Settings section, select the Use Screen Reader
    check box.
    3. Save your changes.
    4. Click on Profile > Default Information icon
    5. Ensure the "Side Navigation Menu" is set to Hide
    6. Exit Maximo
    7. Ensure JAWS is running and reopen Maximo
    8. Log into Maximo, Start Center is displayed
    10. Navigate to Go To -> Administration -> Resources -> Labor,
    Labor application is displayed
    11. Select Advanced, Search button, More Search Fields |
    Current Query menu is displayed
    12. Navigate to calendar icon next to "Hire Date From" field.
    This is read by assistive technology as "Select Date Link
    Graphic". There is no specification as to which field it aligns
    to. The same behavior is noted on the "Hire Date To", "Date of
    Birth From" and "Date of Birth To" fields.
    
    CURRENT ERRONEOUS RESULT:
    This is read by assistive technology as "Select Date Link
    Graphic".
    EXPECTED RESULT:
    This is NOT read by assistive technology as "Select Date Link
    Graphic".
