Summary
MVFS is distributed as a native package, including the source code. If you need to extract the MVFS source code from the native package, follow these instructions.

Steps
To get the MVFS source code originally released with ClearCase®, run the following command line (as root):
# /opt/ibm/RationalSDLC/clearcase/etc/install_mvfs.sh makesrc
If you need the latest MVFS source code:
- Download the latest MVFS zip file from IBM Fix Central. Your search should specify the exact ClearCase release you are using and "fixes that apply to this version."
- The search will provide a package name including the version number and the text "RCCMVFS," for example "9.0.2.4-Rational-RCCMVFS-linux_x86_64-FP04_IFix01"
- If there is no package that meets both criteria in 1.1, then you are using the most recent MVFS for the currently installed release. If there is an "RCCMFVS" package with a newer release number, do not download that update for use with your older release without contacting IBM support.
- Save the file to a directory, for example, "/tmp". The file name will mirror the package name. Using the above example, the download will be named "9.0.2.4-Rational-RCCMVFS-linux_x86_64-FP04_IFix01.zip"
- cd to the directory you saved the file and run the following command line (as root):
# /opt/ibm/RationalSDLC/clearcase/etc/install_mvfs.sh -z 9.0.2.4-Rational-RCCMVFS-linux_x86_64-FP04_IFix01.zip makesrc
In both cases, the MVFS source code will be extracted to "/var/adm/rational/clearcase/mvfs/mvfs_src/".
