Troubleshooting
Problem
In a distributed environment, when you launch Analysis Studio or Query Studio and navigate to folders and select a cube to open, instead of opening the Studio, it opens up the Cognos Analytics home page in a new tab.
It works only when you open the cube from the Recently used packages.
Cause
The Cognos Application Firewall (CAF) has been disabled on some servers and enabled on others.
Environment
Distributed installation. For example:
Gateway : 2 servers
Application tiers : 3 servers
Content manager : 1 server
Application tiers : 3 servers
Content manager : 1 server
Resolving The Problem
CAF should be configured (in Cognos configuration) consistently across all servers in a distributed environment. Therefore, either:
Enable CAF on all servers
or disable CAF on all servers.
or disable CAF on all servers.
Steps:
In each IBM Cognos server open "Cognos Configuration"
Navigate to the section "Security > Cryptography > Cognos Application Firewall"
Set 'Enable CAF validation ?' to 'True' (or False), so that all the servers have the same value for this setting.
