PH38121: CA-7 JOB TRIGGERING FLOW GRAPHS ARE LOADING SLOWLY

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• CA-7 job triggering flow graphs are loading slowly.
  The symptoms is that to bring up a list of schedule IDs to
  select before the graph is created, it takes about 11 minutes.
  After selecting the schedule ID and creating the graph it takes
  about 10 minutes to show the graph.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• When the user wants to create a CA-7 job triggering flow graph
  he can notice that the wizard to choose the schedule id and the
  graph itself takes very long time.
  

Problem conclusion

•  It was discovered that in case the
  database contains many jobs the stored procedures that
  calculate the available schedule ids and the graph, validated
  the data only after collecting all combinations of records
  (invalid as well as valid). The solution is to prevalidate
  while collecting all combinations so that the final validations
  and schedule id calculation runs on fewer records.
