    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    SSL0405E (GSK_INVALID_STATE) generally occurs when IHS is
    trying to gracefully close a client connection. Before the
    socket can be fully closed, any additional data the client
    might send is read and discarded by IHS.
    Sometimes, reading data from an SSL connection triggers a write
    from the security library, but this can fail with
    GSK_INVALID_STATE because we have already told the socket we
    have already "shutdown the socket for writing".
    If IHS knows that the connection has already been shutdown for
    wrtiting and recieves an GSK_INVALID_STATE during a read, the
    message should be logged at lower severity.

Problem conclusion

  • After the fix, IHS treats this condition as a debug-level event
    only.

    The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in IBM HTTP
    Server fix packs 9.0.5.9. For more information, see 'Recommended
