Error description

  • If a JMS topic for an MQ provider has no configured
description then the destDescription parameter is not normally
added to MQ Headers. If unrelated changes are made to the JMS
Topic configuration using the WebSphere Application Server
administrative console, this results in the destDescription
parameter, with an empty value, being added to the MQ Header in
    subsequent requests.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
If the description of a JMS Topic for an MQ provider is not
specified then the destDescription parameter is not set in the
MQ header on requests. When performing unrelated
configuration changes for the JMS Topic, the admin task
erroneously updated the description from null to an empty
String. This resulted in the destDescription parameter being
    set in the MQ Header.

Problem conclusion

  • The admin task for editing a JMS Topic for an MQ JMS provider
was modified to maintain an existing null value for an
unspecifed description and not to update it to an empty String.
