Problem
User is unable to launch Perspectives from a shortcut on their desktop
Symptom
Run-time error '48': file not found: tm1xl.ocx
Cause
Incorrect bitness of tm1p.xla referenced in the shortcut
Environment
Microsoft Windows 2012 R2
Microsoft Excel 2016 32-bit
Resolving The Problem
The shortcut to Perspectives was created to target ..\bin64\tm1p.xla. However, this is a 32-bit install of Microsoft Excel so would need to use the 32-bit version of tm1p.xla. Repointing the shortcut to ..\bin\tm1p.xla resolved the problem.
