APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Storage Insights shows a data collection status of "invalid
    credentials" associated with Storwize systems in the data
    collection column, however this isn't technically correct.
    
    The "invalid credentials" message is misleading - the reason
    that the probe and performance monitor jobs are failing is due
    to the role that's assigned to the ID which Storage Insights
    uses during probes and performance monitors. Specifically:
    
    Error while processing the statists
    com.ibm.srm.dc.common.exception.PdcAuthorizationException:
    Insufficient authority to collect iostats files. (target:
    ip_address_removed, role: Monitor, user: user_id_removed)

    SVC firmware versions that are below 8.3.1.2, require an ID with
    
    the Admin role for performance monitoring in Storage Insights.
    8.3.1.2 and above support performance monitoring using an ID
