Error description

  • The load jobs of the CQM registers in DB2 for z/OS are
presenting a very large difference in run-time,
with a difference in the amount of records that does not justify
this increase in run-time.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: OFFLOAD process shows significant       *
*                      increase in run time if there are many  *
*                      SQL codes records.                      *

* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF.                               *

There were two problems:
1. Reading the SQL codes interval file to the end of the
file every time after finding the needed record.
2. Executing open and close of dataset for each reading of
the record.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Changed the algorithm for reading record by key from the SQL
codes file.
