    * CEEFETCH/CEERELES to fetch and release COBOL *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: S0C1 abend when the fetched *
    *                      program is called.                      *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
    When a COBOL program is fetched
    by CEEFETCH, and not called, and then released (by CEERELES),
    some internal cached information about the program may not be
    correct. This happens only if the program is never called and
    then released.
    Later if the program is fetched again, the function descriptor
    returned by CEEFETCH may not be correct. When the COBOL program
    is called by this function descriptor, s0C1 abend occurs.

Problem conclusion

  • The COBOL runtime library is fixed to handle
    fetch and release correctly.
