=======================
This fix pack resolves the APARs and defects listed in the "Problems fixed" section.
This fix pack also includes the fixes in earlier releases.
2.0 Architecture and prerequisites
===========================
Refer to the IBM Software Product Compatibility Reports (SPCR) for the latest operating system certification information:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/prodguid/v1r0/clarity/index.html
2.1 Prerequisites for this fix:
-----------------------------------
NetApp agent:
This fix is backward compatible with https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/586327 but it is not with NetApp agent 7.3.
If 7.3 is already installed, the agent or the application support cannot be upgraded.
1. Either uninstall the agent and support of NetApp agent from ITM environment and install this fix afresh.
Steps to uninstall the application support: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/how-uninstall-application-support-ibm-tivoli-monitoring-itm-6x-based-products
OR
2. Install the 7.3FP2 and the application support on a dedicated setup.
VMWare or Linux KVM Agent:
This fix pack can be installed as a stand-alone installation; OR
This fix pack can be installed on top of the following release version:
IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Virtual Environments: ITMfVE version 7.2.0.6
Download IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Virtual Environments V7.2.0.7 package from IBM Passport Advantage website.
3.0 Problems fixed
==================
3.1 APARs
-------------
VMware VI Agent:
IJ28887 :
Description:
VMware agent is missing some events occurred on the Vcenter. Events captured by agent do not match with the total count of events available on the VCenter. This problem is because of time lag that API call takes to make the specific event available to fetch.
3.2 Defects
---------------
NetApp agent:
Defect fixed in generating SDA jars for an agent.

VMware VI agent:
Defect fixed in orphaned disk attribute group, and the attribute group shows the valid data for the orphaned disk.
Note: Data for the orphaned disk might not be valid if data store is shared across or managed by more than one vCenters. Data might not be valid if virtual machine is renamed and name mismatch occurred to the vmdk files created on the data store. Administrator is expected to ensure the data validity before you take any actions against the disks showed in this attribute group. IBM is not responsible for any data loss.
3.3 Enhancements
------------------------
Linux Kernel-based Virtual Machines Agent:
  • Added Prerequisite checker support to enable scanning of prerequisites before installation.
  • New attribute, Data center name in storage pool attribute group.
  • If connection fails, the agent would continuously attempt connection to data source without limit every 30 seconds. Such agent behavior remains even though user removed the environment variable KV1_DATA_PROVIDER_CONNECTION_RETRY_COUNT or set it to 0. To have a limited number of connection attempts, the environment variable KV1_DATA_PROVIDER_CONNECTION_RETRY_COUNT must be set to a valid nonzero value.
  • Help text is updated for all the attributes to know the source, whether attribute is supported on RHEVM or KVM-Hypervisor.
  • Removed dependency of ovirt-engine-sdk-java-3.6.8.0.jar
  • Agent JRE is upgraded to the version: 1.8.0_241.
  • Deprecated few attributes from listed attribute groups:
           Host CPU:
               1. CPUs Consumed Per VM
               2. CPU GHz Consumed Per VM
           Host Memory:
               1. Memory allocated per VM
               2. Memory used per VM
VMware VI Agent:
  • Updated attribute groups:
    1. Triggered alarms:
      • Triggered Entity Type: The type of the entity for which this alarm was triggered.
    2. Datastores
      • Percent Overcommitted: The percentage of the total capacity of the datastore that is overcommitted.
    3. Servers
      • HBA Count: The number of Host Bus Adapters (HBAs).
      • Fault Tolerance Supported: Fault Tolerance Supported, indicates whether the host supports fault tolerance.
      • CloneFrom Snapshot Supported: Indicates whether cloning a virtual machine from a snapshot point is allowed.
      •    Capacity: The total capacity of the vFlash resource in MB(Megabytes) connected to this server.
      • Capacity For Vm Cache: The total capacity of vFlash resource in MB(Megabytes) that can be allocated for VM caches.
      • Usage: The total usage of vFlash resource in MB(Megabytes).
    4. VMDiskPerformace
      • VMNodeID: Interval node ID of the virtual machine.
      • Backing Datastore: The name of the datastore that backs this VM disk if there is one.
    5. VMSnapshots
      • Snapshot State: Indicates whether snapshot of a virtual machine has taken by including its memory component. PoweredOff represents snapshot has taken in offline state with no memory inclusion, PoweredOn indicates snapshot has included memory component, Unavailable indicates state is unknown.
      • Snapshot Age: The age of the snapshot, in days.
    6. Virtual Machines
      • FQDN: The fully qualified domain name of the virtual machine.
  • If connection fails, the agent would continuously attempt connection to data source without limit every 30 seconds. Such agent behavior remains even though user has removed the environment variable KVM_DATA_PROVIDER_CONNECTION_RETRY_COUNT or set it to 0. To have a limited number of connection attempts, the environment variable KVM_DATA_PROVIDER_CONNECTION_RETRY_COUNT must be set to a valid nonzero value.
  • Agent JRE is upgraded to the version: 1.8.0_241.
  • For information about the dashboards, thresholds and attributes, see the Monitoring Agent for VMware VI Reference.
  • For information about the troubleshooting topics, see the Monitoring Agent for VMware VI troubleshooting guide.
NetApp agent:
  • Added Prerequisite checker support to enable scanning of required prerequisites before proceeding for the installation.
  • If connection fails, the agent would continuously attempt connection to data source without limit every 30 seconds. Such agent behavior remains even though user has removed the environment variable KNU_DATA_PROVIDER_CONNECTION_RETRY_COUNT or set it to 0. To have a limited number of connection attempts, the environment variable KNU_DATA_PROVIDER_CONNECTION_RETRY_COUNT must be set to a valid nonzero value.
  • Agent JRE is upgraded to the version: 1.8.0_241.
  • For information about the dashboards, thresholds and attributes, see the Monitoring Agent for NetApp Reference.
  • For information about the troubleshooting topics, see the Monitoring Agent for NetApp troubleshooting guide.
