Error description

  • You can use the ceURL parameter in the setBPMExternalECM and
updateBPMExternalECM in the following notations:?With the nodes'
     hostname and port,
    corbaloc::node1_hostname:BOOTSTRAP_ADDRESS,:node2_hostname:BOOTS
    TRAP_ADDRESS/cell/clusters/your_websphere_cluster_name/FileNet/E
    ngine
    ?With the simpler corbaloc URI:
    corbaloc:rir:/cell/clusters/your_websphere_cluster_name/FileNet/
    Engine
The second notation works only when IBM Business Automation and
the IBM Content Platform Engine (CPE) are in the same IBM
    WebSphere Application Server cell. The
    clientDownloadServiceHostname and clientDownloadServicePort
parameters are used to download the CPE client jar files from
the CPE server. If the first notation is used, the parameter
    clientDownloadServiceHostname is optional because the
information can be derived from the ceURL. If the second
notation is used, the clientDownloadServiceHostname parameter is
mandatory because the information can't be derived from the
    ceURL.

Currently, you see the following error message:

    com.ibm.bpm.config.util.ConfigException: protocol = http host =
    null

Local fix

  • If the simpler corbaloc URI is used for the ceUrl, add the
    parameter clientDownloadServiceHostname.

Problem summary

  • This information isn't clearly documented nor is there an
    adequate warning.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available or will be available that ensures the proper
message is added and these notations are documented clearly.

Temporary fix
