APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Customer informed that she adapted the conf file for file
service and then built the AD project with the file, which has
an ISO-8859-1 encoding. It looks great in the Explore View, but
not in the editor. If customer sets the encoding UTF-8 as file
encoding in the conf file and then build, then she can see the
representation in the editor correctly again, but not in the
    view.

Local fix

  • N/A

Problem summary

  • When customer import and build artifacts with umlauts in the
name in ISO8859-1encoding in ADDI, the artifact is cryptically
displayed in the eclipse/IDZ editor. In the ADDI view, however,
it is displayed correctly. When customer import an artifact in
UTF-8 encoding into ADDI, I see in the eclipse/IDz, which is
started with the parameter -Dfile.encoding = UTF-8, the
previously cryptic artifact names are correctly displayed in the
editor. In the Explore View or in the graph, the artifact name
    is displayed cryptically.

Problem conclusion

  • Analyze Client has been modified so that, when opening programs
in the editor, the encoding used for this instruction is the
one specified in File Service configuration file.
Specifying -Dfile.encoding in eclipse.ini or changing the Text
File Encoding in Eclipse Workspace Preferences no longer have an
impact on how programs are displayed in the editor.
