IBM Engineering Systems Design Rhapsody is not able to connect to Remote requirement packages.

Troubleshooting


Problem

IBM Engineering Systems Design Rhapsody is not able to connect to Remote Requirement Packages and it is not allowing to enter the credential to the server.

Symptom

While connecting to Remote requirement packages from IBM Engineering Systems Design Rhapsody ,it is not allowing to enter the credential and always showing the white screen .

Cause

There could be various reason for this behavior but you should always check the malware setting on the antivirus securities.
I am writing the example for McAfee securities.

Before you begin

The interface mode for the Endpoint Security Client is set to Full access or you are logged on as administrator.

  1. Open the Endpoint Security Client.
  2. Click Adaptive Threat Protection on the main Status page.
    Or, from the Action menu , select Settings, then click Adaptive Threat Protection on the Settings page.
  3. Click Show Advanced.
  4. Click Dynamic Application Containment.
  5. In the Contained Applications section, check if it is blocking for Rhapsody.exe file and then select the application and click Exclude.
  6. On the Add Executable page, configure the executable properties, then click Save.
    The application appears in the Exclusions list. The application remains in the Contained Applications list until you click Apply. When you return to the Settings page, the application appears in the Exclusions list only.
  7. Click Apply to save your changes or click Cancel.
Once you made it to Exclusion list then restart Rhapsody and try to connect to Remote requirement packages , it should work for you .
Disclaimer: There could be other reason also for this behavior , this is just one of the example which can block the Rhapsody application.
