Troubleshooting
Problem
This document describes the process of ordering PTFs using the SNDPTFORD command.
Resolving The Problem
With the last enhancements to ECS/ESA, there are some changes and additions to the parameters in the SNDPTFORD command.
To use the SNDPTFORD command, the ECS/ESA service configuration steps needs to be follow. Review document Configuration Instructions for Electronic Customer Support (ECS), Electronic Service Agent (ESA) and PM Agent for V5R4 and Higher releases

Additional Parameters
Delivery method (DELIVERY):
This parameter determines if the order will be attempted using download only or if it will failover to media mailing (if the download option is unavailable because of size limits).
*LINKONLY (default): Indicates to the system to attempt a download only. This does not failover to mailing on media.
*ANY: Specifies to attempt a download first; however, if set size limits are met, the order will failover to mailing on media.
Orders are not sent on media when going through HTTP/HTTPS
*LINKONLY (default): Indicates to the system to attempt a download only. This does not failover to mailing on media.
*ANY: Specifies to attempt a download first; however, if set size limits are met, the order will failover to mailing on media.
Orders are not sent on media when going through HTTP/HTTPS
Delivery format (DLVRYFMT):
This parameter determines if the PTF or PTFs should be sent as save files or if the order will be sent as images.
*SAVF (default): Orders the save file. When downloaded via this method, the standard load/apply or installation methods are used (using commands or the GO PTF menu). Save files are downloaded into QGPL. *SAVF orders are Interactive jobs. This will tie up the session until the order is downloaded.
*IMAGE: Allows the images to be downloaded in the IFS directory indicated in the Image Directory (IMGDIR) parameter. Image downloads are installed with the use of image catalog. *IMAGE orders are batch jobs. This will not tie up the session. The download will happen in batch.
Reorder (REORDER):
This parameter enables the user to customize a PTF order to the system it is being ordered from. Specify one of the following values:
*NO (default): Only those PTFs required for the system are ordered. This is true for individual, group, and cumulative orders.
*YES: Orders all the PTFs, regardless of product or release, related to the order. For cumulative and groups, this orders the entire group or cumulative order.
*NO (default): Only those PTFs required for the system are ordered. This is true for individual, group, and cumulative orders.
*YES: Orders all the PTFs, regardless of product or release, related to the order. For cumulative and groups, this orders the entire group or cumulative order.
Check PTF (CHKPTF):
This parameter is used for individual PTF orders only.
*NO (default): The PTF order request is ordered even if the PTF product is not installed nor supported on the system.
*YES: The PTF should be ordered only if the required product is supported or installed on the system.
Image Directory (IMGDIR):
*NO (default): The PTF order request is ordered even if the PTF product is not installed nor supported on the system.
*YES: The PTF should be ordered only if the required product is supported or installed on the system.
Image Directory (IMGDIR):
This parameter is used only if the delivery format parameter is set to *IMAGE. The path must exist before to set it.
*DFT (default): The default path is /QIBM/UserData/OS/Service/ECS.
*DFT (default): The default path is /QIBM/UserData/OS/Service/ECS.
Image catalog (IMGCLG):
Specifies the image catalog to create based on the PTFs ordered.
*NONE (default): No image catalog will be created.
If a name is specified, the image catalog is created if does not previously exist.
Examples of SNDPTFORD:
o Complete cumulative package as *SAVF
SNDPTFORD PTFID((*CUMPKG)) REORDER(*YES)
o Complete cumulative package as *SAVF
SNDPTFORD PTFID((*CUMPKG)) REORDER(*YES)
o Partial cumulative package as *SAVF
SNDPTFORD PTFID((*CUMPKG)) REORDER(*NO)
This will request PTFs that are missing from the system that are on the current cumulative package (Customized Cumulative)
