Summary
We have identified that the IBM Kenexa LMS On Premise is affected by one or more security vulnerabilities. These have been addressed in LMS 6.1.0 version.
Vulnerability Details
CVEID: CVE-2020-11023
DESCRIPTION: jQuery is vulnerable to cross-site scripting, caused by improper validation of user-supplied input by the option elements. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to inject malicious script into a Web page which would be executed in a victim's Web browser within the security context of the hosting Web site, once the page is viewed. An attacker could use this vulnerability to steal the victim's cookie-based authentication credentials.

Remediation/Fixes
IBM recommends updating to the latest release for customers who are using an affected version. The new version is available at IBM Passport Advantage web site.
Once on version 6.1, please proceed to download and apply the provided fix via Fix Central.
Steps to Download from Fix Central
- Log in to Fix Central (https://www-945.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/)
- Select " IBM Kenexa LMS” from the Product Selector dropdown
- Select "6.1" from the Installed version dropdown
- Select "Windows" from the Platform dropdown
- Click "Continue"
- Select "Browse for Fixes” and click "Continue"
Download the following 3 files:
- Download the LMS 15.1.0 patch - p_15.1.0000_2021-01-08_07-43.zip or above
- Download the PE 10.1.0 patch - IBM_Participate_10.1.0_2021.0216-cumulative.zip or above
- Download the JQueryUpgrade_Instructions.zip
Steps to Follow in Version 6.1 ONLY:
1. Stop LMS 15.1.0 and Participate 10.1.0 Services
2. Extract the JQueryUpgrade_Instructions.zip

3. Open the “JQueryUpgrade-PE-Instructions.txt” file & follow each step in PE application folders to upgrade J-query
4. Open the “JQueryUpgrade-LMSInstructions.txt” file & follow each step in LMS application folders to upgrade J-query
5. Start the LMS 15.1.0 & PE10.1.0 services

Note: *** Please download "JQueryUpgrade_Instructions" while applying the latest patch for LMS build version 15.1.0 and Participate 10.1.0. This is a one time requirement and in instance where you have already applied "JQueryUpgrade_Instructions", then re-applying the same in future cumulative fixes is not required and you may proceed with regular patching process***
