Error description

  • In some cases the CQM started task may issue msg:
    CQM6102E SCRATCH FAILED FOR xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx SCRATCH STATUS
    CODE=08 R0=04190401"

    The message may occur at started task startup of at the start of
    interval processing, when CQM atempts to issue a SCRATCH against
    the
    expired CQM backstore VSAM datasets.

    This symptom is seen in customer situations where RACF is not
    the security package being used.

    Code has been added to call IDCAMS to delete QM's expired
    backstore datasets in lieu of invoking the SCRATCH macro.
    Hopefully this will alleviate the error conditions QM is
    encountering issuing SCRATCH. It has been proven in the past
    that IDCAMS could delete expired VSAM dataset whereas the
    SCRATCH macro failed.

Local fix

  • Delete the data sets using IDCAMS or TSO Delete.
