QRadar: App Host appliance requirements and support policies

Question & Answer

Question

This document outlines out-of-scope work App Host appliance support cases and the responsibilities of the QRadar administrator.

Answer

Responsibilities for Sizing for the App Host issues

An App Host is a managed host that is dedicated to running apps. App Hosts provide extra storage, memory, and CPU resources for your apps without impacting the processing capacity of your QRadar® Console. Applications such as User Behavior Analytics with Machine Learning Analytics can require more resources than are currently available on the Console. App Hosts allow administrators to migrate applications off the Console to run on docker containers on the App Host.

The App Host replaces the App Node. Unlike the App Node, QRadar manages all updates to the App Host. The App Host supports high availability, and you can include the App Host in your high availability deployments. For more information, see the App Host page.
Support type Description Responsibility
Support for App Host system requirements issues
QRadar® Support can assist with App Host issues, error messages, or confirm product functionality. QRadar Support can:
  • Provide assistance to customers and answer questions concerning general specifications and hardware requirements for App Host installations.
  • Troubleshoot issues where an application cannot be migrated from the Console to the App Host.
  • Troubleshoot upgrade issues where the App Host encounters an error during a software upgrade.
