Fault Analyzer loops while * * processing COBOL abend with LANGX * * side file. * * APAR PH37117 * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF * **************************************************************** 01. Abend0c4 using a bad caa pointer. 02. Extremely long Cobol statement exceeds internal buffer. 03. After an ATTACH failure an attempt was being make to DETACH a null value leading to the S23E abend. 04. NORENT + NOWRITABLE(FWS) locates CONTROLLED variable anchors in automatic storage. Fault Analyzer does not recognise this and uses a static storage base address which may cause IDI00092 or bad data to be reported. 05. Options reporting needs to be refreshed. 06. String is not null terminated after ISPF VCOPY operation. 07. RBLINKB pointer is zero. 08. Host support module passes DETAIL(LONG) to Fault Analyzer for reanalysis and this option cannot be overridden by any of the supported methods. This results in large amounts of data being transferred. 09. If FA is invoked on a L8 TCB the subsequent ATTACH fails. 10. Loop in COBOL Perform Traceback code due to missing pvn information in LANGX label symbol record.
Problem conclusion
01. LE CAA validation improved. 02. Internal buffer is dynamically allocated based on statement. 03. A check has been added for a null TCB value 04. Fault Analyzer now recognises anchors in automatic storage. 05. Cobol V6 options reporting is updated. 06. String is null terminated. 07. Additional validation for RBLINKB added. 08. Module IDIGMAIN is changed to remove DETAIL(LONG). Customers using the Fault Analyzer plugin will need to either provide override options or have the host default options changed to use DETAIL(LONG). 09. FA will cause a TCB SWITCH to the QR TCB from where the ATTACH works successfully. 10. Fault Analyzer now handles missing pvn information.
