Abstract

DS8880 and DS8900F systems with specific Flash Drive models, are exposed to conditions that may lead to a permanent read error when accessing data.

Description

Systems with low Read/Write activity over 6+ months could encounter higher rates of unrecoverable read errors, causing a Flash Drive to be rejected from the array.

Multiple drive rejections in a single array could potentially lead to data loss.

Exposure

DS8880/DS8900F systems with Drive Models listed in the table below, running below the levels indicated in the Firmware Fix Level column.

Flash Drive models and their respective firmware levels can be verified using DS CLI command:

dscli> lsddm -l (dash-lowercase-ell).
