Error description

  • When using IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments - Data
    Protection for VMware version 8.1.11.0 the Spectrum Protect
    plug-in for the VMware vSphere Client GUI does not reflect the
    real-time progress of a backup or restore in its progress bar.
    The progress bar remains at 0 percent until the operation
    concludes, then it changes to 100 percent.

    Diagnosing the issue:
    .
    In an IBM Spectrum Protect Client service and vddk trivia trace
    the visdkGetTaskStatus() messages tell us that the progress bar
    is running, but there are no progress numbers seen:

Problem conclusion
