Question & Answer
Question
Why does the launched executable pause during runtime when terminal/console window is clicked
Cause
Microsoft® Windows® has a feature in its command terminal called "Quick Edit". This allows user to click in the window to interrupt the output, so that they can input data. This is a feature in Microsoft® Windows®. Please see this Microsoft® bug report (in particular check the comment by DHowett-MSFT):
Answer
If you manually disable QuickEdit then clicking the terminal window no longer pauses execution.
