  The current documentation for batch return codes indicates -14
  for
  "Job failed and is in execution failed state" and -16 for
  "Catastrophic failure - WSGrid utility".  -16 was a WSGrid
  specific
  return code that reflected both a Catastrophic failure or
  execution
  failed state.
  

Problem conclusion

• An update was made to allow the WSGrid utility to exit with -14
  for a batch job that ends in execution failed state.  This
  behavior can be enabled with a new Job Scheduler custom property
  
  com.ibm.websphere.batch.execution.failed.wsgrid.rc
  
  Define this property with true to enable WSGrid to return the
  execution failed return code (-14) when the batch job fails
  and is in execution failed state. By default, WSGrid will
  return -16 for this status.
  
  The aforementioned documentation has been updated to reflect
  the new property, and to more clearly differentiate return
  codes associated with Java batch jobs in general and those
  unique to the WSGrid utility.
  
  The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
  8.5.5.19 and 9.0.5.7.
